What is Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty?
If you aren’t happy with the shape of your nose, non-surgical rhinoplasty - often referred to as a liquid nose job – is the simple and effective way to address the problem, without resorting to invasive surgery and associated general anaesthesia. Non-surgical rhinoplasty is popular amongst women and men of all ages – and is a treatment we regularly perform at our Manchester clinic. It involves injecting dermal fillers into the skin around the nose, to change the structure and contours, producing stunning, long-lasting results. As with all our procedures, our overriding goal at Dr Confidence Aesthetics is to build or restore confidence in our patients - and we can say with complete certainty that a non-surgical rhinoplasty will do exactly that!
Which areas of the nose can non-surgical rhinoplasty improve?
One of the most common reasons why people opt for a liquid nose job is to smooth out contours and bumps, especially around the bridge of the nose. But dermal fillers can also be injected into any part of the nose, to modify the shape of the sides or tip. It really depends on the appearance you are seeking. You might want to add volume or reshape the tip to make it more rounded or prominent, or even to lift a drooping tip.
Benefits of non-surgical rhinoplasty
This is a non-invasive procedure, which avoids the need to have a general anaesthetic
You’ll have a quick recovery.
After this procedure, you can return to work and your regular activities the same day, or the next day.
The results aren’t permanent, so in the unlikely event you are not pleased with how it looks, in a matter of time the fillers will be absorbed.
It’s kind on your pocket. The cost of non-surgical rhinoplasty is far less than the surgical alternative.
You’ll be proud of the way your nose looks.
How does the procedure work?
Non-surgical liquid rhinoplasty is very straightforward - especially compared to the invasive surgical equivalent. We undertake an initial consultation with you where your desired results are discussed. On the day of the procedure, a topical anaesthetic is applied to your nose and the surrounding area, to make things completely comfortable for you. Once the anaesthetic has taken effect, we inject the filler into the areas requiring remodelling. You might feel a slight pinching or pressure whilst this is done. The whole process usually takes around half an hour.
Who is suitable for this treatment?
Liquid nose jobs are ideal for anyone who doesn’t fancy going under the knife to smooth out the bumps and contours in their nose.
How does non-surgical rhinoplasty work?
At Dr Confidence Aesthetics, we use dermal filler ingredients to change the shape of your nose. A gel-like injectable, hyaluronic acid (produced naturally in the body), is injected into the deep subcutaneous tissue layers over the bone or the specific areas of concern, where you wish to create smoother lines or volume.
Are there any side effects after the treatment?
Apart from a little short-term redness and sensitivity, which may last an hour or two, it is very rare to experience any complications. It is worth pointing out that because the nose is quite a sensitive area, containing plenty of blood vessels, this may result in a small amount of bruising and swelling around the
areas of injection. This is a procedure which should only be carried out by a properly trained aesthetic doctor (such as Dr James) to ensure that the correct amount of filler is used. This is important in order to prevent any displacement of filler to other parts of the nose or the surrounding area, which may cause an unsightly, bloated appearance.
How soon will I notice the benefits?
After a couple of weeks, you should really start to see the full benefits of your non-invasive rhinoplasty treatment. Any redness or swelling should have completely disappeared by then and you should experience a nice smooth appearance, in line with your expectations.
Is there any downtime?
One of the great advantages of having a non-surgical rhinoplasty is that you can resume your normal routine the same day as the procedure. There is no need to take time off work or to avoid physical activity for any period of time.
How long will the effects of the treatment last?
It is important to understand that these “liquid nose jobs” are not designed to last forever. The hyaluronic acid filler will get absorbed naturally into your tissue. Depending on how much filler we used during your treatment, the results of the procedure should remain effective for anything between six months and two years. Preparing for treatment Before you come to the clinic for your non-surgical rhinoplasty, we will make you aware of all the points itemised below, to ensure you are best prepared.
1. In the weeks before the procedure, avoid aspirin, anti-inflammatory
medication (such as ibuprofen), vitamin E supplements and any other
blood-thinning supplements. If you’re on any blood-thinning medication,
it will be important to let us know.
2. Eat lots of green, leafy vegetables to boost your vitamin K in the weeks
before your procedure. This will help avoid or reduce any bruising.
3. Drink plenty of water and, if possible, eat a light meal containing starch
and protein before your appointment.
